What does the advancement exam consist of?

The exam consists of 200 questions. Part of the exam is occupational standard (your rate) and the other part professional military knowledge (PMK). The rate questions will be first followed by the professional military knowledge questions.

The Occupational (Your Rate) / PMK question ratios are as follows:

Exam Occ / PMK
E-7 - 100 / 100
E-6 - 115 / 85
E-5 - 135 / 65
E-4 - 150 / 50
